Easy management of documents and projects

Kommentit: Overall, the experience with confluence has been really positive. All the features I'm utilizing(search engine, Space, templates for documentation, integration with jira software) has helped me grow in the company and saved me from many troubles.

Confluence is an awesome tool that helped me a lot at my workplace with all those documentations written by my colleagues and the guys before me. One thing i liked the most was its version control meaning it track changes and maintain a history of edits. It also informs you about the changes made to any documents .It keeps all the documents in one place. It is so much easier to access documents via Search bar.

While basic features are user-friendly, using advanced functions like macros or integrations can require trainings. Also searching can be difficult sometimes if the documents were not organized (specially in large workplace).

Old and clunky, doesn't allow live documents

Main drawback - to this date I haven't found a way to have live documents uploaded, meaning every time something changes - I need to upload a new version. Many of the documents are net being previewed (you cannot even view them online), so you have to download them.

Kommentit: I am using Confluence in my last organization aswell is in current org.i have created many space and published it internal users.its features like structure content tree,page versioning,whiteboard etc give flexible user to customized their content with diagram and pic.

Kommentit: It is a better option than having documents spread out in different folders. It is good how it can hold multi-media and it is relatively easy to edit.

One of the best there is!

Kommentit: Confluence is great overall. It is one of my favorite applications for managing documentation (internal and external). I have recommended and implemented this at two previous workplaces as well using it in my current endeavours.

Best tool for documentation!

Simple tool to manage project Assets

I am quite glad this tool exists, It has an easy to navigate and even easier way to create new type of documents. I've been able to add smart links to give an in-window layout of the different file types for this.

Jira and Confluence - Solid Project Management Tools

I greatly enjoy the Kanban views, and ability to easily set up reporting across teams/boards. It's fairly easy to customize. Planning Sprints and seeing burn down reports is also very easy with this tool.

There really isn't much I dislike. I haven't used it for Resource Management so if you need to be able to do that ...I'm not sure if this is the tool for you.

Better than Sharepoint

Effective way of recording design history and decisions

Kommentit: Confluence made the recording of our UX delivery from Discovery to Beta really easy, so that people joining the project, stakeholders or future teams working on the same service can review the decisions we made and the evidence to back them up.

It was an effective tool for logging reasons, process and the development of an agile UX delivery from Discovery to Beta - logging design histories, decisions and changes in a way that was easy to navigate.

Not much to add here - search functions and labelling worked well, and it was easy to use when creating the documentation too.

Easy to use, tough as an administrator

Kommentit: I use it daily to write and create KB articles. My goal is to get something done fast, approved and ready. Confluence allows me to reach this goal.

There are some limitations when setting page permissions. If you are familiar with server permissions, Confluence is not as flexible and easy.

A good experience with Confluence

Kommentit: My experience with Confluence was across multiple companies, so I saw the evolution of the product. in general it's a good tool to store your companies knowledge center, it has both on prem and saas solutions and it has a very short onboarding time.

It works best when you have the whole package of Atlassian which includes Jira and Bitbucket, It also has good integration with other tools but best all the tools to come from one "home".

Kommentit: All in all, we conclude that Confluence is a really helpful software when it comes to project management within a team. For that reason, I believe that the key advantage of is simplicity and the ability to edit it in collaboration with others simultaneously.

This software is very convenient for use by anyone, including the first time user of this kind of applications. The place to look for documentation and indepth analysis

Usefulness of confluence in our organization

Kommentit: Overall confluence is an helpful application as it supports various devices and also provide data security for our data stored in there. It is a useful documentation and knowledge tool and easy to use in general.

We use this to store our product and implementation related documentation which is helpful for new employees who join the team or revisit old methods. Blogs can be published shared with specific access and share with features such as likes,comments etc.

Navigation is somewhat difficult and causes confusion at times as we have many team and many branches, sub-branches, libraries it gets harder to navigate. Access controls are limited in customisations.

Great collaborative platform - but not without its quirks

Confluence has been instrumental for our team as a central repository for our documentation, streamlining our workflow considerably by keeping everything from project plans to meeting notes in one place. The real-time collaborative editing feature is a game-changer, allowing multiple team members to work on the same document simultaneously, which has boosted our productivity during brainstorming sessions and project planning (especially when working across various timezones). Its seamless integration with Jira and other Atlassian products facilitates easy progress tracking and task management, creating a more cohesive working environment. Additionally, the range of templates available makes it easy to get started with new documents, and the ability to create custom templates tailored to our specific needs has been very useful. Its superior to platforms like Quip in the way that it handles pasting in content from other platforms/products (Excel for example). Its shared organizational structure also makes it much easier to use - because we can create one team location with sub pages, and organize them holistically rather than everyone having their own organization approach.

It takes a bit of a learning curve to get used to where you find everything. Additionally, granting access to people on different pages is challenging - to the point that it seems like we have to include IT in those type of requests - which shouldn't be the case, and is MUCH easier to do in Quip. The search functionality can also leave some things to be desired, as many times it takes 4-5 searches to finally find what you're looking for.

Feature Rich Doc Management

Kommentit: I use it in conjunction with Jira, and I tag my documentation both ways in order to connect the actual tasks in working on along with the documentation for the task.

It is very easy to organize the space how you want, make multiple page with complext embedded or graphs and chart and have a "book documentation" like summary that is very easy to navigate. The search is really powerful

It is sometimes heavy and slow to load pages and formatting sometimes so hard to make it do what you want. But I guess haven't practiced enough with it.
